The world is a hive of distractions, multi-tasking, and cultural ADD. Many sit down to write and watch hours vanish with nothing to show but a trail of browser tabs. Flowstate is a response to the amphetaminic digital age. It frees the writer to turn on, tune in, and open up.
HOW IT WORKS
Choose how long you want to write (5, 15, 30 min), then enter a flow session. If you exit early, or stop typing for longer than five seconds, all progress is lost. The only way to save your work is by writing until the timer ends.

Pros:
- You write ALOT in a short space of time, I have written more with this app consistently than any other method I have found
- Nice calming writing environment
- If you like researching THEN writing this app amazing
Cons:
- Lack of convenient export mechanisms, I email it to myself and copy it into google docs
- You need to invest in the idea of writing and editing as seperate parts of the creative process otherwise the 5 seconds before your work is automatically deleted is very stressful
- If you like researching WHILST writing, do not get this app, it will be useless
Seems a bit of a gimmick but actually works. Don’t expect your writing to be amazing, the developers state that the aim is to draw the distinction between writing and editing and you really have to endorse that attitude to make the app work. If you do that and forget most of what you have written as soon as you write it i.e. just focusing on writing the next line/paragraph you will get alot written down, It generally forces me to do around 600 words in 15 mins. The trade off is that you end up repeating yourself alot and often lose some coherency in the whole piece, which again the developers argue is what editing is for rectifying. It can be quite scary not being able to stop writing for more than 5 seconds before all your work is deleted, so I would recommend never setting the session length to more than 15 minutes.

I bought both OS Mac and iOS within moments of reading reviews, love the dark theme, the font sizing by pinch is awesome,
Cant find options to create Hotkeys and Menubar Access
I would love to see a 'Save Now” option, if you dont reach the time limit,
and you have something else pressing, i.e. putting Mac down to do something non related.
I would like more time options to work to, goals of 30 seconds, 1 min etc. That would suit my writing style, smaller goals, get to reach them quicker.
Would love to see a file option so I can organise my drafts.
Would love to see a tag option so drafts can get drilled down.
Would love to see a search option, to find drafts quicker.
Would love to see text widescreen, so text is the complete width of the screen.
I would love all of the above available to iOS
How can you not be intrigued?
This is the kind of ingenious idea that seems obvious once you read about it.
I’ve recently bought a MacBook Pro, and while I bought it for running music and video software, I couldn’t wait to get this. I think it’s a wonderful implementation of a cool concept. Only used it twice so far, looking forward to using it more regularly.
